Des Moines

Back in November (seems like a long time ago!) Albert had the opportunity to preach/exhort in an URC in Des Moines, Iowa. Since it is about a 6 hour drive each way, we asked the contact person whether it would be possible for our whole family to come. An elder and his wife graciously hosted our entire family for the weekend. They really spoiled us. It made me miss family as it was so nice to just be looked after for the weekend and not have to worry about the girls, what to cook, play games and having great fellowship. The church reminded me of Wanganui in size and again it reminded me of 'home'! We are so blessed to get meet these brothers and sisters in Christ. I also got my 'dog fix' as they were also dog sitting the Pastor's dog.

The Phillips also had a creek at the back of their property which the girls had great fun in, catching some 'fish'. At the back of their property there was a railway track also where the Phillips would put pennies on and then the train would flatten them. Unfortunately we didn't see a train while we where there but the Phillips kindly put some pennies on the track for us and sent them to us! How cool is that?

The Phillips also have visited New Zealand and met briefly Raewyn and Daniel and heard Daniel preach. Isn't that cool also, the world is indeed small!
